“Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 19:32)

Brittany Smith

J & L Innovations is made up of over 1800 individuals, which include employees, client prospects, clients and their families, caregiver prospects and caregivers. On September 7, 2022 we lost one of our family members. Brittany Smith was a caregiver who made a lasting impression on our J & L Innovations family during her initial interview on August 10, 2021. How did she make a lasting impression? We are glad you asked. Brittany professed her love for providing care to seniors and just being a blessing and helping those who have paved the way for her Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Parents as well as her children and herself. Brittany said, “Providing quality care for our seniors is a heart job, not a hard job. The only other person we have heard make that statement was Carolyn Webster a friend of our J & L Innovations family.

Brittany Smith was hired August 11, 2021 and started her first shift with J & L Innovations on August 14, 2021. Over the course of one (1) year and three (3) weeks, Brittany was assigned 498 hours and 280 shifts. During that time Brittany became the favorite caregiver of the six (6) clients she was assigned. Brittany was shy with a huge heart. These qualities allowed Brittany to adapt to the different personalities and diagnosis of her clients. Brittany provided companion care, dementia care, respite care, and gave baths. In addition to those things, Brittany cooked and did light housekeeping. Brittany went above and beyond for her clients going to their home on her day off just to make sure they did not need anything. Brittany’s last shift was on September 5, 2022 and ended at noon.

On September 7, 2022, Brittany and her two (2) children Gracie Pennington and Patrick Pennington were on their way home from Pentecostals of Robertson County. Brittany was Monday night bible study teacher. Teaching her children as well as others to love and honor Jesus. Brittany spoke of how the love of Jesus, saved her life a few years ago. Brittany was blessed to share her testimony with individuals who were willing to listen. It made sense why Gracie and Patrick were described as the sweetest God loving children you would want to meet and they never met a stranger while carrying a huge smile on their face. Sadly the vehicle of Brittany, Grace and Patrick was struck by another vehicle, taking the life of our family members. Brittany, Gracie and Patrick are survived by Julie Smith Mother and Grandmother.

Brittany, Gracie and Patrick will be missed!
